Yep, translator tends to make a bad job because they don't take the context of the words or things like that.
But the fact that "let them eat cake" is in history books is shocking, it wasn't in my history books lol.

Must have been in older history books because I don't remember seeing it in any of mine. But who knows...

Anyone want to go to my 3 hours of class today? You just have to take notes in Chem, listen in Bio, and listen in Ete. It's not hard but I wanna go back to bed.

I'll do your three hours of class today if you go to my shop tomorrow and layout my next job, and start cutting the metal.

So Red and Cosy's let them eat cake thing got me curious. I read the "That they eat brioche " translation and wanted to see exactly what French brioche is. I've had and made American brioche, but often the "authentic" version is different. (turns out it's not in this case but meh)

So....reading the Wikipedia thing on brioche I found this:

Jean-Jacques Rousseau, in his 1783 autobiography Confessions, relates that "a great princess" is said to have advised, with regard to starving peasants, "S’ils n’ont plus de pain, qu’ils mangent de la brioche", commonly translated as "If they have no bread, let them eat cake". This saying is commonly mis-attributed to the ill-fated Queen Marie-Antoinette, wife of Louis XVI; it has been speculated that he was actually referring to Maria Theresa of Spain, the wife of Louis XIV, or various other aristocrats.

So it may not even have been her? I'm kinda disturbed lol, I was taught that let them eat cake while studying the French revolution in college just a few years ago....so much for "higher education" eh?

Meh I'm done with class today, minus the game tonight but that isn't a big deal. And monty, believe it or not that sounds like fun, of course I would have no idea how to correctly do it so you would have to show me but meh atleast I would feel like I accomplished something.

Wikipedia is bad. Ktnx

oO Didn't know you could do that and I didn't know there was an update. I guess that is what happens when you go a basketball game for 4 hours. Oo

Btw, CBI championship series is tied, 1 all. My college just beat Tulsa by 9. Game 3, the deciding game, Friday. Go Braves!

Pwnd go do your homework !!!! xD.

I talk to Fenryl about the "that they eat brioche" thing and she explained it to me

Hope you guys understand my translation xD.

Edit : I never ate a brioche (I think xD, I don't always know the name of what I eat xD) and if I remember correctly, Rousseau is quoting Marie-Therese.

I don't have any homework atm. It's all done and I'm caught up. Am going to bed though since I have to be up in like 7 hours to go observe. oO Oh well, I think tomorrow afternoon my friend is coming over to shoot more chit on R6V2. Can't wait for that.

Makes sense. oO

ah observation....hope your school was better than the one I did mine at---I wanted a cage to hide in since the kids were not 'supervised' and threw things, yelled, were just generally rude--to even the teacher! Ah the memories...thanks
